A year ago (exactly, down to the hour) I was on a horribly delayed flight bound for Amsterdam, The Netherlands. *sigh*

These days, all I seem to feel is frustration. In bucketloads of it at that. I need this whole year to be over already. It’s been a long painful year and this last quarter is the worst of it. I need to breathe, but everywhere I go seems like another suffocating place that I want to get out of. I guess this is my life screaming at me to stop and fix myself up. But hey, the world is spinning and it’s not going to wait for me to be ready. I’m not exactly asking for much, maybe just ask me if I’m still actually alive? Sometimes I feel like I’m just a floating ghost in the background of everyone else’s lives. Not exactly a fun place to be when you’re exhausted, frustrated and a different negative kinds of -ed. Which incidentally, is how I feel right now. So here I am, working my butt off like there’s no tomorrow (well, technically I won’t be here at work tomorrow so I guess I am working like there’s no ME tomorrow HERE?) and there are a thousand or so more things that I have to do. I need to stop.

Here come the hurricanes!

I finally received my epic birthday gift from the Significant Other! Neil Gaiman’s American Gods - The Tenth Anniversary Edition. One of my all time favorite novels. Of which my original copy has errrrrr been in hostage & currently residing in Tucson, Arizona for more than a year now? |D

Welcome and breakfast

Our hotel reservation in Rome included breakfast every morning and this is the bar where we claimed that. It’s a cute bar with a very nice owner (and his assistant, I’m betting they’re father and son) and awesome food. The owner was nice and accommodating, this meant a lot since we don’t speak Italian and he therefore had to exert some effort to communicate with us in English. I wouldn’t mind going to this bar for breakfast everyday, but I bet my weight would skyrocket if I did that. This was taken on our first day, there were some patrons seated. On our second day, the bar was packed and everyone was taking espresso shots on the bar. That was amusing. Oh the Italians and their coffee. Hee~ XD

Sailing on a sea of clouds 30000ft over China

For the first time in my life, I was partly apprehensive to board a plane. While waiting for the boarding call, all I could think of was “I’LL BE ON A GIANT BUS 30000FT IN THE AIR FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS. WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO?!” Before that flight, the longest I spent inside a plane was 2 hours. I’m really grateful that the flight went smoothly and that I was able to sleep better than I expected. Besides, all the discomforts and misgivings I had with that flight vanished when I finally saw the reason why I flew more than 6000 miles on a 12 hour flight that was delayed for 4 hours.
